Trancendence - Simone de Beavoir

Dichotomy that is a basic feature of oppression: the differentiation of the human population into two groups  – those who achieve transcendence through creative and dynamic life-enriching activities, and those relegated to lives of immanence concerned simply with the maintenance of life in its basic conditions (Beauvoir 1949) “Transcendence” and “immanence” are defined in terms of the everyday work and actions of human beings. Thus, transcendent work includes writing, exploring, inventing, creating, studying, while immanent work includes such work as cooking, cleaning, bureaucratic paper pushing and even biological actions such as giving birth (Veltman 2004). The key point to grasp in this differentiation is that activities which involve immanence are basically futile in that they consume time and energy, but accomplishes nothing of fundamental significance (Veltman 2004).

CAMUS

Sysiphus myth For hide the Death sysiphus was condemned to a lifetime  of rowling a boulder up a hill. Backbreaking. Only to reach the top of the hill and had the boulder roll over to the bottom to start all over again. Condemned to a lifetime of pain only to have his efforts be completly futile in the end. Camus said that this was a methaphore for life. "There is only one seriuos philosophical problem" Camus says, "and that is suicide. Deciding whether or not the life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question in philosophy. All other questions follow from that" Camus sees this question of suicide a natural response to an underlying premise, namely that life is absurd in a variety of ways. As we have seen, both the presence and absence of life (death) give rise to the condition: it is absurd to continually seek meaning in life when there is none, and it is absurd to hope for some form of continued existence afte death given that the latter results in ou...

Se emplea el término miedo irracional para significar su naturaleza primigenia,  origen de los dioses y de las costumbres atávicas de seguridad y protección. El desconocido es enemigo porque nada se sabe de él,  y el conocido también, p...
